Windows Vista Horror Stories...

Anybody got any yet? I've been using it for about two weeks now, and I have to admit, it's been pretty boring so far...

I'm running the 32-bit edition on a P4 2.4 w/768K RAM. The only two issues I've run into so far have been drivers not working correctly for my ATI Radeon 9250, and no built-in drivers - nor factory drivers - for my Linksys LNE 100TX ethernet card. I had to actually swap it out for a Realtek card I had laying around.

The 9250 drivers built in to Vista work for the primary head, but dual monitor is definitely not working. ATI's new Vista driver package doesn't include the 9250 (of course, ATI providing crappy driver support isn't anything new).

The one that really mystified me was the LNE 100TX....that's like one of the three most prolific ethernet chipsets in the history of computerdom. I was frankly surprised that they didn't include driver support for it within Vista. Oh well.

Oh yeah, tip to the wise...if you do decide to try out Vista, do NOT try to install Alcohol 120%...the virtual drive driver that it installs does not do bueno things to Windows (I got a blue screen & had to remove the drivers in safe mode). Use PowerISO instead.
